We’re a sucker for a good Batman mashup, and this Escher meets Joker piece has stolen our hearts.

This very detailed illustration, titled “Constantine,” was inspired by the ancient city of Byzantium and shows heavy influences by Escher.

This Escher-inspired drawing of Chicago was done entirely with ball point pen. Mueller noted that a single window had at least 30 pen strokes in it. The entire piece took roughly 80 hours to complete!

We’ve had some pretty dreary weather over the past few weeks here in New York City. From gloomy grey skies to high winds and pouring down rain, all we have wished for is some summer sunshine. But, then we came across these breathtaking, dreary photographs by Ákos Major.

Inspired by the traditional Eastern European Matryoshka Dolls, Myers collected the evolution of the original starter Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu) and nested them together into the handy Pokeball. The design series, which is intended for t-shirts and hoodies that Myers sells, has been dubbed Poketryoshka. (via Poketryoshka: Pokemon Nesting Dolls by Michael Myers | Redesign Revolution)

Don’t miss out on the photos from yesterday’s Manhattanhenge! Twice a year, the setting sun in New York City aligns perfectly with Manhattan’s east-west street grid. This phenomenon makes for the perfect chance to snap photos of the sun setting between the skyscrapers of Manhattan.
